About Joshua Jensen
Philosophy of care
My goal is for us to develop a collaborative relationship. I work hard to practice evidence-based medicine and recognize each patient is unique, with different priorities and circumstances. My hope is that through shared decision-making, we can find the best path forward to maximize your quality of life. Why I entered medicine
The original motivation came from my mom, a pediatric RN. Her impact, along with my work experience and love of problem-solving, helped me recognize medicine as a good fit. I especially enjoy internal medicine, because I can establish long-term relationships with my patients and help coordinate all aspects of their care. I hear a large variety of health concerns each day, which encourages me to continue learning. I find working with patients to be extremely rewarding and am excited to continue helping improve their lives.Community involvement
I’m actively involved at my local church. A life-long goal has been to participate in medical missions in Latin America. I learned Spanish after volunteering in Xalapa, Mexico for two years. Since then I have looked for ways to give back to the community by teaching English classes and volunteering at a free community clinic.Personal interests
I enjoy traveling and exploring the outdoors with my wife. We spend a lot of time hiking, playing pickleball/tennis, and trying new foods. My favorite place to visit is my grandpa’s cabin in the Uinta Mountains, where I can read a good book, go fishing and unwind. I’m also a big fan of the Utah Jazz and love playing soccer whenever I get the chance.Education
