Philosophy of care
I enjoy talking with the child and their family members to see what they are passionate about as well as listening to them voice their concerns. It is great to have the opportunity to engage in their life with the information that they want to share with me. As "Guardians of Tomorrow's Superheroes," I believe that preventative care and providing anticipatory guidance is key to to helping children and adolescents have a brighter future.Why I entered medicine
I have always wanted to be a nurse and once I completed nursing school, I decided to become a nurse practitioner. I love working with children! They are so inquisitive and want to learn. Nurse practitioners are fortunate enough to enjoy both taking care of others and collaborating with the medical team to improve care by offering children and adolescents a medical home.Community involvement
I am involved in my community through volunteering for the Dream Come True Organization. It is an organization that grants dreams for children who have chronic and life-threatening illnesses. I help refer children that qualify for dreams as well as assist in fulfillment of their dreams once they are approved. It is very rewarding, and I enjoy working with others who share the same passion for children!Personal interests
I enjoy spending time with my family, especially my husband and two young daughters! I love to run. I participate in numerous 5K runs and walks for charity. I also love to bake, especially chocolate chip cookie cakes, and have recently started decorating some cakes as well!Education
