Press Release

Valley Health Partners and Jefferson Health Selected as Exclusive Healthcare Partners for Allentown School District's Family and Community Resource Center

VHP and LVHN team up to support Allentown School District.

Valley Health Partners (VHP) is proud to announce that the Allentown School District Board of Directors has formally approved VHP and Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN), part of Jefferson Health as the exclusive health care partners for the District's new Family and Community Resource Center. This transformative initiative will bring whole-person, community-rooted care directly to students, families, and school staff in Allentown.

A One-Stop Hub for Families

Located on the campus of Bridgeview Academy (formerly Building 21), the Family and Community Resource Center will serve as a central hub supporting families across the Allentown community. The Center will streamline new school enrollment by providing physicals, immunizations, and required health documentation—while also creating ongoing access to comprehensive health care for students, families, and school staff.

Comprehensive Health Services On-Site

Through this partnership, VHP will operate an on-site clinic location, offering primary care services for students, families, and staff, integrated behavioral health services, mobile dental and vision services, and wraparound supports that address social drivers of health.

"Valley Health Partners is honored to continue to serve families of the Allentown School District. This partnership reflects our shared belief that health and education are deeply connected, and that when we invest in families, we strengthen entire communities,” said Veronica Gonzalez, Valley Health Partners Chief Executive Officer. “By bringing primary care, behavioral health, and wraparound services directly to where families already are, we're removing barriers and creating real, lasting pathways to wellness. This is whole-person, whole-family care in action, and we couldn't be prouder to help build this model alongside LVHN and the Allentown School District."

This project builds on existing VHP locations at Hays and Sheridan Elementary Schools, extending our reach to serve even more Allentown families.

Education-to-Career Pathways

In collaboration with LVHN, the Resource Center will also support education-to-career pathways, with particular alignment to the District's health-themed Bridgeview Academy. LVHN will provide comprehensive career programming while the Center offers hands-on learning and workforce training—giving students real-world exposure to healthcare professions and helping grow the next generation of clinicians right here in our community.

A True Community Hub

The Resource Center will function as more than a health clinic. Through strong partnerships with additional community-based organizations, it will provide workforce readiness and employment support for families, English as a Second Language (ESL) programming, and connections to housing, food access, benefits navigation, and other essential services.

Our Shared Vision

This initiative reflects everything Valley Health Partners stands for: whole-family care, community partnerships, accessible healthcare, and long-term community impact. Our shared vision with the Allentown School District and LVHN is bold—not just caring for students but supporting the entire school community through care and education.

We are honored to serve as the clinical health care partner for this groundbreaking project. As we move into implementation planning, we look forward to sharing more details about how this partnership will expand access, strengthen families, and build a healthier Allentown.
